Atrium - CalTech

Spring 2018

This proposal is for a Caltech addition building which tends to the new school needs of extra laboratories, auditorium, and dormitories. It is divided into two main areas, the public sector which faces the street while the private sector faces the school. There are three layers to the program organization, the most public parts are on the bottom floor open to all students. The program becomes more private as you ascend up the levels with classrooms and auditoriums on the second floor and dorms on top. A modular grid consisting of circulation and program helped derive the form and organization of the project.
